Connecticut didn't have a successful agriculture economy. They relied on ship building and the manufacturing of rum. The only things successful planted were wheat, corn, pumpkins, rye, squash, and beans. Colonist did have fishing commerce. The fishing came along with their exports of rum, timber, ships, livestock, and furs. Whaling was a key commerce due to lamp use.
